Lochgoilhead late evening in August

It's been several years since I last visited Scotland, so I relished the opportunity to spend a week in a lodge at Drimsynie, Lochgoilhead on Loch Goil.

Although it's only about 50 miles from Glasgow it's pretty remote, accessible only by single track roads going through some pretty spectacular, but difficult terrain such as the 'Rest and be thankful' pass and 'Hell's Glen'.

Lochgoilhead late evening

Here are a couple of images I took late evening with my S9500 on the day of my arrival, in between rain showers. I always marvel at how the weather can change so quickly in the highlands and how 'moody' the hills can be.

The first image is the view of the north end of Loch Goil, the 2nd image is a view of LochGoilhead across the tidal sea loch from Drimsynie. Fortunately, it didn't rain all the time and I was able to take some contrasting photographs that show a 'friendlier' side to the hills. I'll try and post these later when I have time to process my images. It could take me a while, I captured nigh on 300 images in RAW.

Ooops, got the images wrong way round. Thanks for the positive feedback MIKE. Forgot to mention, I processed my images in HDR to get the detail.

Very good images indeed, lovely detail and contrast.  I often think HDR gets over done, but your treatment here works really well and isn't overly obvious.

Thanks for posting. Smile
