exposure details on screen

After I have taken a picture how can I get the screen to show the shutter speed and aperture used. I have a S1500. Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't know the camera or if it can be done, but if you use a semi auto mode such as shutter priority with a known ISO the shutter speed and aperture might show in the viewfinder. It is better to know the exposure before you take the photo. Only then will you be able to adjust it if the image is not what you want.

You will almost certainly be able to view the histogram of the image and this can tell you a lot about the exposure level. Useful for avoiding blown highlights.

Kind regards,

Chas.

Do you have +/- button on camera.  While viewing your photos, depress that and information should pop up on screen.

Many thanks for the replies. Thanks, Jen, and just noticed the +/- button. My excuse for rushing to post for information is that I have had a digital camera for only a week and am having to digest loads of information not only from the basic paper manual but also the owners handbook on CD!! Anyway, jen, you have increased at least two peoples(two person's?} knowledge. Incidentally, I don't know if you are right or wrong but I always thought it was a mine of information. Regards

Angie- coming from Wales, a country with a great mining history, I would have thought Jen would have known it was a 'mine' of information!!

Actually Roy, I would love to say it was a deliberate error, but no, it was a boob!  Will try harder next time.

In this case, in my defence, my mind is full of useless information!

Jen - I'll be kind and say I think you were getting mixed up between mind over matter and mine of information! Regards
