This photo, taken from our bedroom window was intended as my competition entry for July, but as it has been manipulated (the boat, loosely based on a photo credited to Fair Wind Wine) was pasted in as a focal point, I have replaced it with a cat - straight from the camera! The boat is the Kathleen & May, the last of the wooden hulled, three masted top sail schooners which is moored in Bideford and often sails across the bay.

Beautiful picture, manipulated or not.  The sky going from blue to red is lovely, and the boat looks as though it should be there. Well taken.

I am at a loss to understand Sylvia.  Why withdraw your entry because it was manipulated, there is nothing wrong with that, and it's certainly withing the rules and spirit of the competition.  Manipulated entries have even won.

I think it is fair to say that the sailing ship is obviously pasted in, but not the less beautiful for that.

It is presented in a very pleasing way, so why remove it?
